CLAT 2017: The CLAT – Common Law Admission Test is one of the most important and well known entrance examination. Each year this examination gets conducted. It is a national level entrance examination to provide admission in UG and PG Law courses. This examination gets conducted for the duration of 2 hours. In this text there will be multiple type questions based on General Knowledge, Math, English and Legal & Logical Reasoning. You must be 12th passed out in order to apply for this examination. Well these are just few details regarding CLAT 2017. This time CLAT 2017 will be organized by Chankya National Law University, Patna.
Currently there are total 17 NLUs – National Law Universities within our country. Each year, it is the responsibility of one NLU to conduct this entrance examination successfully.

Changes made in age criteria:
There is separate eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission to LLB and LLM programmes. Candidates can go through the criterion given below to check if they can fill the CLAT Form.
NOTE: Candidate must be an Indian citizen and NRIs. Candidates who have cleared 12th with compartment, they can also apply for this exam.
CLAT 2017 Application form will be available from 1st week of January 2017. After that candidates can apply for CLAT 2017. Those candidates belong to GEN/OBC/SAP (Specially Abled Persons) Category, They need to pay Rs. 4000/– as application fee. For SC/ST Candidates it will be Rs. 3500/– only. The application fee is Rs.4000/- for General/OBC and PWD category students and Rs.3500 for SC/ST students
The appearing applicants for CLAT 2017 must check the examination syllabus before they start their preparation. The examination syllabus of CLAT covers all the sections of English, GK, Current Affairs, Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning. The GK & Current Affairs sections include 50 marks each, whereas English section including comprehension, logical reasoning consists of 40 marks each. The mathematics section will have 20 marks.
For UG Courses:
The test will be conducted for 2 hours. There will be total 200 multiple answer type questions. For each accurate answer, you will get one mark and for each wrong answer, 1/4th marks will be deducted.
For PG Courses:
There will be 150 multiple choice questions in this test. Candidates need to finish this test in the duration of 2 hours. For each accurate answer you will get one mark and for each wrong answer ¼ marks will be deducted.
The admit cards for CLAT 2017 examination will be available online from April 2017 on official website. The applicants are advised to bring the ID proof along with admit card at the examination centre. The admit card will have all the important details related to examination such as examination date & time, examination centre, applicant’s name, roll number, applicant’s signature, thumb impression etc.
The results will be declared in 3rd week of May 20, 2017. Candidates can check their result on www.clat.ac.in by accessing through their personal LOGIN ACCOUNT.
Complete merit list according to the marks secured by the candidate will be published on the CLAT website. also the state specific and all India merit lists will be prepared for various categories like Open/SC/ST/OBC/Women and PWD etc. candidates.
Counseling will start from June, 2017 (tentative). Candidate where they want to take admission must indicate their NLUs preference online. Admission will be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference and there will be a centralized admission process for CLAT 2017.
