BJP President Amit Shah, Congress President Rahul Gandhi campaigning in Gujarat

In Gujarat, where all 26 parliamentary constituencies will go to polls in the third phase on Tuesday, Electioneering has reached its peak. Senior leaders of different political parties are touring the state and holding rallies.

BJP president Amit Shah today addressed a rally at Bodeli in Chhota Udepur while his second public rally will be held at Dharampur in Valsad district. He expressed the confidence that Modi government will again come in to power on the basis of performance and loeadership issues.

Mr. Shah alleged that Congress party ruled the country on the name of poor, backwards and farmers, but never worked for their welfare. Senior BJP leaders Vinay Katiyar and film actor Paresh Raval also campaigning in Saurashtra and North Gujarat.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi today addressed a public rally at Bajipura in Bardoli. He said that if Congress voted to power, our government will present separate budget for farmers. He criticised the Modi governement on the issues of GST, demonatisation and black money.

Senior party leader Kapil Sibbal addressed a press conference at Rajeev Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad. Mr. Sibbal alleged that demonetization is a biggest scam under which scraped currencies were exchanged on commission.

AIR correspondent reports that one unidentified person slapped Congress leader Hardik Patel when he was addressing a public rally in Surendranagar district.
