DefExpo 2020: First India-Africa defence conclave to be held today

On the second day of DEFEXPO 2020, two important meetings are scheduled today along with many discussions on defence related issues. First India-Africa defence conclave will be held today in which Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will participate.  On the opening day of event, Mr Singh met ministers of different countries including Maldives, Oman, UAE, United Kindom on the sidelines of the event. The fifth India-Russia Military Industry Conference is also scheduled today.

AIR correspondent reports that a unique feature of the event today will be the India-Africa defence conclave. It is being done for the first time. There will be focussed interaction at the ministerial and head of delegation-level in which over 30 African countries will participate. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will preside the Conclave. He will also host a dinner in the honour of African Defence Ministers. The fifth India Russia Military Industry Conference will also be held on the sidelines of DefExpo 2020 at the venue. Over 100 Russian and over 200 Indian industry leaders are expected to participate. Six seminars will be held on the second day, on various issues including “US Defence Industry and ‘Make in India’, “Future of Aircraft Carriers and “Game Changers in Aerospace & Defence and preparing from the next gen threat”. There will be live demonstrations of large platforms and also flying display at the Gomti riverfront and the DefExpo venue.
