French Open: Two Indians to open their campaigns today

In French Open Tennis, two Indians will open their campaigns today. Pairs of Divij Sharan & MarceloDemoliner and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan will their Men’s doubles matches.

In Mixed doubles, Rohan Bopanna and Lucie Hradecká will play their first round match in the evening.

Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Marius Copil have advanced to the second round of men’s Doubles at Roland Garros yesterday.

The unseeded Indian-Romanian pair knocked out sixth-seeded South African-Kiwi pair of Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus 6-3, 7-6 in the opening round yesterday.

In Men’s singles, former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina reached the second round beating Chilean Nicolas Jarry. Federico Delbonis, also from Argentina defeated Spain’s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

In women’s singles, world number one Naomi Osaka advanced to the second round defeating Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. Defending champion and third seed Simona Halep also advanced to the second round defeating Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic.
