Group of 46 youth from J&K visit Tamil Nadu under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat programme

Under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat programme, a group of 46 youth including six girls drawn from 11 districts of Jammu and Kashmir is in Tamil Nadu on thirteen day visit to the paired state under the programme. Presently the delegation is in Chennai and visiting schools and Panchayats in Punawali village. The youth are scheduled to stay for a day in the houses of their hosts in Chennai and prepare the culinary dishes of both the states.

The delegates are also learning words from Tamil languages and wearing the traditional dresses of Tamil Nadu. They will visit local tourist destinations of Chennai tomorrow morning and will leave for Kanyakumari tomorrow afternoon.

The programme opened up a window of opportunity for both the teams to understand each other and to become the ambassadors of goodwill. The broad objectives of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat include celebrating the Unity in Diversity of our nation and to promote the spirit of national integration through engagement between all states and union territories.
