Inaugural edition of revamped ATP Tennis Cup team event kicks off in Australia

The inaugural edition of the revamped ATP Tennis Cup team event kicks off in Australia today. A total of 24 nations, split into six groups, will be contesting in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney for over 10 days for the first time. 

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are among those who will be looking for a winning start ahead of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament beginning on 20th of this month.While Federer, Nishikori and Murray are missing, most of the world’s top 30 men are playing.

 The opening day today will feature plenty of blockbuster matches. In Group F, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet Denis Shapovalov of Canada in Brisbane’s day session. Germany’s Alexander Zverev will face home favourite Alex de Minaur in the night session. In Group D, World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev of Russia will battle Italy’s Fabio Fognini in Perth’s night session.
