India tighten its grip on second Cricket test against South Africa in Pune
In cricket, South Africa will resume their first innings at the overnight score of 36 for 3 on the third day of the second test match against India at Pune. Chasing India’s mammoth total of 601 runs, the Proteas lost early wickets in the last session of the second day’s play. Umesh Yadav took two wickets while Mohammad Shami one.
Earlier, India declared their first innings at 601 for 5. It was a landmark day for Skipper Virat Kohli who first hit his 26th century and equalled Australia legend Ricky Ponting’s record for most Test hundreds as Skipper. After that, he surpassed sir Don Bradman’s record of most 150 plus score as a captain. He then hit a double century, 7th for him, and the most among Indian batsmen, eclipsing legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
