Indian Embassy in US sets up helpline to address queries on travel restrictions

Indian Embassy in the US has set up a 24-hour helpline to address questions on the recent travel restrictions implemented by New Delhi in a bid to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The two helpline numbers are 202-213-1364 and 202-262-0375. People can also reach out to the embassy at cons4.washington@mea.gov.in.

India on Wednesday suspended all visas, except a few categories such as diplomatic and employment, till April 15 in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The suspension comes into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13 at the port of departure.
The government has also strongly advised Indians to avoid all non-essential travel abroad.
