Top leaders of various political parties engage in hectic campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls. Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi will today interact with people, who have pledged their support to the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign from 500 places across the country through video conferencing from New Delhi.
Prime Minister yesterday launched the BJP’s election campaign in Northeastern region from Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing a rally at Aalo in West Siang District, Mr Modi accused the Congress of neglecting development of the region and its people.
Later, speaking at a rally at Gohpur in Assam, Mr. Modi said, Northeast region is suffering from infiltration due to the policies of the Congress government in the 1970s. He accused the Congress of cheating people and said the ‘Chowkidar’ will fight against infiltration, terrorism and corruption.
BJP president Amit Shah will address two public meetings at Nagina and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh this afternoon.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi will address meetings in Vijayawada and Kalyanadurg in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. He will also address a rally at Bengaluru today.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, senior Congress leader Anand Sharma accused the NDA government of mismanaging the country’s economy during its five year rule.
Mr Sharma alleged that there has been a sharp decline in exports, investment, construction and production activities and capital formation.
