Over 50 lakh citizens benefited from free treatment under Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Over 50 lakh citizens have benefited from free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that this is an important milestone in the journey of creating a healthy India. He said, it will make every Indian proud that in a year, over 50 lakh citizens have benefited from free of cost treatment. Mr Modi said, apart from curing, this scheme is empowering several Indians.

The scheme, which is the world’s largest health care programme, provides a health cover of five lakh rupees annually to vulnerable families and aims at benefiting more than ten crore poor families all over the country.
