PM Modi thanks world leaders for congratulatory messages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked the world leaders for their congratulatory messages on BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

In reply to US President Donald Trump, Mr Modi said in a tweet that the victory represents the aspirations of a nation of 1.3 billion people.

He said, he is looking to working closely with the US President for closer bilateral ties, which also augur well for global peace and prosperity. Mr Modi also thanked US Vice President Mike Pence and said, this is a victory of democracy, which India and the US cherish.

Thanking Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mr Modi said, people have reposed their faith in democracy and development.

Replying to French President Emmanuel Macron’s message, Mr Modi reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthen the Strategic Partnership between India and France.

Mr Modi also thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for heartfelt greetings. He said India cherishes deep-rooted and multi-faceted ties with the Kingdom. Mr Modi said, he looks forward to further enhancing the relations for the benefit the citizens.

In his reply to President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Mr Modi said, both the countries share a longstanding relationship of goodwill and mutual trust. He said the two sides will keep working closely on common priorities and challenges.

In his message to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Modi said, India-Nigeria relations have grown from strength to strength in the last few years and he is committed to continuing working with him to further enhance our bilateral ties.

Thanking President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza, Mr Modi said, he looks forward to working with him to strengthen the ties between India and Burundi for development and prosperity.
