Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri today stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and target of housing for all by 2022, is going to be achieved in one to two years. The Minister was speaking at 15th National Convention on Housing for All 2022 in New Delhi today.
Mr Puri said, the transition to five trillion-dollar economy requires 10 to 12 per cent rate of growth and this growth can be structured with the real estate sector. He said, in order to achieve this goal, all the economic stakeholder and construction industry should be taken on board.
The Minister said, to ensure the success of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Urban), homes should be energy neutral. He said, 16 new technologies have been identified that will ensure suitable building design, construction process and these will follow best sustainable practices.
The focus of the convention, organized by National Real Estate Development Council, was to discuss and resolve issues and hurdles in real estate sector and take stock of progress being made. A large number of representatives from the real estate sector and construction industry had detailed deliberation on various issues of the sector.
