President Kovind addresses Indian community in Berne

President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the Indian community and friends of India in Berne at Switzerland on Thursday.

He is visiting Switzerland as part of his three nation tour to enhance political, cultural and trade ties.

Addressing the Indian community in Berne along with the first lady, the President emphasized on greater ties with Switzerland, which he said, is a world leader in innovation.

Saying that India is on course to meet its commitments under the Paris accord, he informed that India has taken a lead on the International Solar Alliance to promote solar energy worldwide.

The President said that India is making new strides in the fields of startups and smart solutions, hosting the third largest start up network in the world with over 21,000 enterprises working on subject as varied as robotics and vitiligo.

On a lighter vein, he noted that Bollywood has taken Switzerland to every nook and corner of India and the scenes from the Indian movies can be as effective as Google maps in understanding the topography of Switzerland
