President Kovind says strong, prosperous and progressive Bangladesh is in India’s fundamental national interest

President Ram Nath Kovind today said a strong, prosperous and progressive Bangladesh is in India’s fundamental national interest. A delegation of young Members of Parliament and political leaders from Bangladesh called on Mr Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. 

He said, the two countries are confronted with common challenges. and they are tied together by shared history, culture and familial ties. The President said, shared aspirations of the two sides should lead the two nations to find the best ways to jointly harnessing the resources and capacities.

Welcoming the delegation to India, Mr Kovind said that he was delighted to meet the next generation of politicians from Bangladesh. He urged them to be ambitious in thinking of new ways in which the partnership can help drive development and create shared prosperity.
