Taliban ambush Afghan police convoy, 7 killed

In Afghanistan, seven security forces were killed in a Taliban ambush on a police convoy in western Ghor province.

The spokesman for the governor of the province Abdul Hai Khateby said the attack which took place yesterday set off an hours-long gun battle. 
Faqir Ahmad Noori, the head of operations for the provincial police, was among those killed. The attack began with two suicide car bombs targeting checkpoints.
